Mendl’s is a cute little place in Viladomat street in Barcelona. The owners love Wes Anderson movies and in every  corner of it, you can find details and memorabilia of his movies. In a way Mendl’s Is more Wes Anderson than the place he himself  curated in Milano. 

The selection of croquetas Is very impressive: sobrasada and honey, monkfish and shrimps, provolone, eggplant…. Good salads and cakes.  

    
    
   

SIBERIAN hospitality

I’m in Khanty Mansysk, a town in Siberia where a group of filmmakers have create this amazing film festival: Spirit of fire. I ate wonderful things: ELK soup, red fruits pastry, blinis with red And Black caviar, smoked fish And a very special frozen fish, who was the main food for the old tribes who lived here.  Their sense of hospitality makes you totally forget how cold Is here.

    
    
    
    
    
   

The best albariño

This amazing albariño wine  TRAILARÁ Is delicious. Light, crispy , friuty with a subtle peachy aftertaste . Perfect to eat with all kinds of sea food , ideally ” Pulpo a feira”!!!

 This Is a wonderful place for all vegetable lovers…And food lovers in general. The chef Xavier Pellicer shows how any vegetable can be transformed in the most delicious meal…in some cases with the little help of some pig’s parts. Eggplant ( with a touch of catalan sausage “botifarra”) Pumpkin ( the Pumpkin tatin with an almost Transparent touch of pig’s cheek was delicious) Celeri a la Meuniére.. The highlight of the dinner was a dish made with green peas , black truffle And the wild mushroom”trumpetes de la mort”: a m a z i n g!!!

Very interesting  wine selection and a bunch of delicious  ( And inexpensive) tapas to go with in this charming place in C/ Muntaner 6  ( Barcelona) . Don’t miss ” las patatitas bravas con chipotle “,  las croquetas ( de gorgonzola y manzana , de ceps) and an amazing “tartare sandwich with foie”.
